Michael D. Hiebing, 83 of Sheboygan, passed away on his birthday, January 16th, at home. Michael was born to the late Henry and Theresa (Acker) Hiebing on January 16, 1941 in Sheboygan. He graduated from Sheboygan South High School with the class of 1961. Michael was united in marriage to Dianne DeBlaey on October 8, 1966 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. He served in the United States Marine Corps for over 3 years, 14 months of which were spent in Vietnam. He worked at The American Club for many years. Michael enjoyed trap shooting, fly fishing, and enjoyed making artistic wood carvings. He was a volunteer firefighter and taught how to tie flies for fly fishing at Wounded Warriors.
Michael is survived by his wife, Dianne; son, Michael H. (Geraldine); two grandsons, James and Hunter (Becca); as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held for Michael on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s UCC, 2114 Wedemeyer St., Sheboygan, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Memorials are preferred to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to their friends and neighbors for all the help and support, especially Tommy, Faith, Deb and Karla. They would also like to thank the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their care.
