Michael E. Karbe, age 70, of Sheboygan, died on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Aurora Sheboygan Medical Center. He was born in Sheboygan on January 24, 1956, to Donald and Sharon Wert Karbe.
Michael grew up in Sheboygan and attended Sheboygan South High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country proudly. Michael was united in marriage to Kathleen Garrity in June of 2008. He was employed as a fabricator at Stainless Steel Specialties in Oostburg for many years, until his retirement.
He enjoyed woodworking, RC airplanes, and loved to spend time with his furry companions. In his younger days, he was one of the early surfers in Sheboygan as well.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Karbe; four step-children, Amy Garrity, Patrick (Angie) Riley, Jim (Cortney) Riley, and Lee (Ally) Riley; his mother, Sharon (Bill) Wiehr; two brothers, Jeffrey (Linda) Karbe, Patrick (Stacy) Karbe; one sister Lori (Mark) Grasse, and a brother-in-law, Scott Loose. Mike is further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Julee Loose, and a stepdaughter, Becky Riley.
A funeral service for Michael will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery.
