Michael Robert Kaker passed away on March 14, 2021. His wife, best friend, and love of his life, Connie Kaker, whose beautiful face he wanted to see one last time before saying his final good-bye was at his bedside with their daughters, Angela (Shawn) Lehmann and Sondra (Brent) Russell, to whom Mike was a cheerleader, protector, counselor, and entertainer.
Mike graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1965, married Connie Kaker at St Peter Claver Church in Sheboygan, served his country in the US Army from 1967-1970, worked hard at the Kohler Company to provide his family a comfortable life, and took his well-deserved retirement in 2013 after 40 years of employment. He loved sports, played football and baseball, coached softball; and throughout his life, Mike cared deeply for the vulnerable and valued empathy for all; a legacy he passed on to his children.
Mike is remembered by many as kind, easy-going, and fun. He expressed those qualities publically and privately his entire life. He never spoke negatively about anyone even in the privacy of his own home; and through his final days he smiled easily and laughed often with caretakers, family, and friends.
Mike was deeply proud of, and received much joy from his grandchildren: James (Brittany) Cook, Jonathan Cook, Shawn Lehmann, Hannah Lehmann, Avery Russell; and his great-grandchildren: Zelra, and Vella.
Mike loved and was much loved by his brothers and sisters: Terry Kaker, Greg (Chris) Kaker, and Dale (Jeanne) Holmer; by his cousin: Collete (John) Adelich; and by his nieces and nephews: Shannon (Jeff) Schomberg, Kristen (Matt) Dickson, Kimberly (Matt) Krepsky, Christopher Kaker and Nicole Cha, Ryan (Jordan) Holmer, Miranda Holmer and Spencer Langhart.
Mike was proceeded in death by his parents, Stephen and Johanna Kaker; his mother and father in-law, Gilbert and Mae Holmer; his infant sister, Janelle Kaker, and his sister-in-law, Charlene Kaker.
At Mike’s request, there will be no service, but it was his wish that his memory will be a blessing to all who knew him.
