Nancy J. Simenz, 72, of Sheboygan passed away at home unexpectedly on March 8, 2021. Nancy was born to the late William J. and Sophia (Dietz) Simenz on August 13, 1948 in Sheboygan. She attended grade school at Ss. Cyril and Methodius and graduated from St. Joseph High School in Milwaukee. She went on to the UW-Milwaukee and earned a degree in Political Science in 1970 and then received her Master’s degree in Theology from St. Francis Seminary. Nancy was a chaplain at several places including Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and St. Nicholas Hospital. She was involved in local and state politics and enjoyed theater and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Nancy is survived by one sister, Susan Simenz of Green Bay; three brothers, William M. (Sheila) Simenz of Sheboygan, James Simenz of Cornelius, OR and Robert (Jody) Simenz of Marion, OH; nieces and nephews, Shelley (Jeff) Koellmer, Christopher (Stacy) Simenz, Andrew (Kara) Simenz, Molly (Jon) Waters and Nathaniel Simenz; great nieces and nephews, Corbin, William, Sophia and Quentin Simenz, Taylor, Caleb, Josiah Koellmer and Aaron, Jacob, Adelyn Waters.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles and sister-in-law Charlotte Simenz.

Our deepest sympathy to Nancy's family. We knew Nancy both from politics in the community and her employment at EBCO and Newport Exchange. Although we lost contact over the years, we remember her passion, commitment and dream to obtain in degree in theology enabling her to minister to those in need. She was a good person.
As time passes faster than I believe it could, so do I find myself grieving relationships that changed with the years. I knew Nancy through her volunteer role and was honored to work with her at SSR Hospice. She had such kindness and depth of wisdom...& could always find the humor. Her sermon guide was, “Be bright, be brief, be done.” She was such a good, good person. I’m honored to have been her friend and to have shared the years together that we did. Blessings on her life on earth and in heaven.
So sorry too hear of Nancy's passing. Our prayers are with you. I still talk to friends about hiding in the Sinenz' swing set when Heidi would get loose. I'm sure we were protecting our ankels from Heidi's bites one time or another.

My sincerest sympathy to the family of Nancy Simenz. I’ve known Nancy since the early-1980’s as a very warm, comforting person who made everyone feel better and at ease. As a chaplain, she was a blessing to so many people during their most difficult times of sadness, grief, and despair and she brought hope, peace, and comfort to those who needed it most. Nancy lived a life of service to others and will be greatly missed.
I’m saddened to hear about Nancy’s passing, but grateful to know she is with Jesus. I’m a pastor across the street, and will never forget the times when she would walk over and talk about the church with me. She will be missed.
