Nancy Lee (Peik) Heimbold 85, of Sheboygan WI passed away peacefully September 5th. Beginning as a young child, Nancy was always a person of deep faith and thought. She is now with Jesus, her husband and best friend Peter, her loved ones and friends who have already departed.

Nancy was born January 18,1938 in Sheboygan, WI to Herbert and June Peik. As a youngster, she lived a wonderful, simple life on Sheboygan’s south side and at her grandparent’s farm. She attended Central High where she excelled academically, on the debate team, member of the National Honor Society and at Girl’s Badger State. Her silent strength and her kind personality made her a friend to many. She shared a lot of good stories about working at Prange Co. during high school and growing up in Sheboygan in the1940s and 1950s.

Nancy left Sheboygan in 1956 to attend Marquette University where she earned a ground-breaking degree in physical therapy. This is where she began her life-long mission of compassion for people with physical challenges. It’s also here that she met the love of her life, Peter Heimbold. Pete and Nancy were married May 20,1961 and remained happily married for over 60 years.

After Marquette, Pete and Nancy moved to Decatur, IL where they raised their family and became entrenched in their community and countless friends. In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, she was also a highly respected physical therapist, a career she continued for 40 years. Throughout her career she cared for and touched the lives of many people, both young and old.

Pete and Nancy retired to Sheboygan in 2003 where they quickly became involved in their church community and the Sheboygan Yacht Club. Nancy enjoyed her walks along the lakefront, volunteering, her children and grandchildren, a good book, Packer games, trips to Summerfest, and a good brat fry or street festival.

Nancy is survived by her children Chris (Patti), Tim (Jennifer) and Therese; grandchildren Jade, Raven, Pete, Joe, Jack and Finn; great-grandchildren Olivia and Jackson.

Nancy had a wonderful life and she will be dearly missed by those who she touched with her smile or kind word. She was a beautiful woman.

Please accept my condolences on the passing of your mother. Nancy was in my golf league for many years. When she no longer played golf, I often saw her at the Yacht Club. (Therese, I think it was you who met me and my family on July 4th. Nancy joined us at our lunch table.. As an aside, I also served on the House Committee with your dad.) Nancy always said hello and had a big smile on her face. We enjoyed each other's company. May your fond memories of her bring you peace, and may you take comfort in your family and friends. Sincerely, Roberta Filicky-Peneski, aka "Bert"

So sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. Pete and Nancy were a great couple. Nowhere can join him. I was unable to make the service today. I felt very bad about this. I will always remember Nancy in my heart. God be with you all.

Nancy was my very first best friend. We met when she was 4 years old and I was 3 and she moved in to the upper flat of the house I lived in. We did everything together until we were out of grade school. We shared a basement, so when her mother was working I would go upstairs and play together. My mother did not work outside the home, so she would kinda keep an eye on us,but she never knew what we talked about and did. I never forgot. By the way my last name at the time was Stubbe.
