Peter A. Sagal

Peter A. Sagal, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 24, 2024 at the age of 90. Peter was born in Sheboygan on May 15, 1933 to the late Peter and Julia Sagal. He attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School with the class of 1952. Peter served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was united in marriage with Barbara Baumert on August 18, 1962, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Sheboygan. During his working years he was employed by Tecumseh in New Holstein and then by the Vollrath Company for 40+ years until his retirement in 1997. In his younger years he was involved in gymnastics with the Turners. Peter was a longtime member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed working on cars, grilling out, listening to music, and enjoyed going to the Milwaukee Zoo, domes, and Brewer games with his kids. He was an avid Packer, Brewer and Bucks fan and enjoyed watching all of the college games. Peter enjoyed spending time with family and friends over the years but especially and more than anything he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Peter is survived by the love of his life, his angel, and wife of 61 years, Barbara; children, Lynne (Dane) Madson of Sheboygan, Mark (Amy) Sagal of Sheboygan, Phil (Lisa) Sagal of Sheboygan and Lisa (Dan) Gumm of Brown Deer; grandchildren, Danielle (Corey) Zastrow of MN, Mandy (T.J.) Ashcraft of OR, Jacob and Cole Sagal, Kristine (Matt) Axelson and Josh and Alex Gumm; great-grandchildren, Brady, Blair, Braxton, Lilly and baby Isaac on the way. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and friends. Peter is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Julia Sagal and siblings, Nicholas, Josephine, Steven, Paul, Johnny, Bill, Joe and their spouses; sister-in-law, Shirley Kuester and brother-in-law, Frank Baumert and their spouses.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 1:00 p.m.
