Phillip Thiel, age 83, of Sheboygan, WI, died Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Phil was born on January 16, 1940, in Sheboygan to the late Frederick and Marie Thiel.

He graduated from Central High School in 1959 and worked for the family businesses, Riverdale Country Club and North Bowl Lanes. Phil then worked for the Vollrath Company and after 27 years retired. Phil married Judy (Hoffmann) Thiel on May 23rd, 1964, at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and they had four children, Torre, Trish, Rob, and Chris. Phil was an active member of Immaculate Conception church.

In his early retirement, Phil enjoyed traveling in his motorhome and spending time in Florida with his wife Judy, and the many friends they made in retirement.

He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.

The family would like to thank all the people working at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Thank you for the comfort you gave Phil, as well as the wonderful insights, knowledge, and emotional support you showed our entire family. Watching someone you love make the transition out of this life is a really difficult thing, and your wisdom and comfort helped us navigate this challenging time. Thank you so much for all you are doing.

A memorial service for Phil will take place at a later date.

Our condolences to the Thiel family. As a child I always remember long tall Phil on his long tall horse as he stopped in front of the home of Charlie & Kate so the neighborhood children could see his horse.
