Raymond B. Pitsch, age 86, of Sheboygan, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. He was born in Sheboygan on October 21, 1932, the son of the late John and Frances Ohlshmidt Pitsch.

He attended St. Peter Claver Catholic School, St. Nazianz Seminary, UW-Stout, and graduated with his Master’s Degree from UW-Milwaukee. Raymond was a U.S. Army Veteran and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

On August 16, 1958 he was united in marriage to Mary Fredricks at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Ray was an educator and guidance counselor for the Howards Grove School District for over 30 years, retiring in 1994.  Besides being the first football coach at Howards Grove High School, Ray also spent a great deal of time refereeing various high school and college sports.  Upon retirement, knowing he couldn’t sit still for very long, he thoroughly enjoyed his time spent working at Trilling True Value for approximately 10 years.

He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul and a friend of Bill W. Raymond was an avid sports fan and cheered for the Cubs, Packers, Bucks and Badgers.  Raymond was known for his attitude of gratitude, deep spirituality, and unconditional love for everyone he encountered.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; six children, Bernie Pitsch, Teresa (Scott) Baudhuin, Richard Pitsch, Chris Pitsch, Amy (Steven) O’Connor and Sara (Kory) Kosmicki; eight grandchildren, Madeleine (Andrew) Pitsch, Eva Pitsch, Nicholas (Stephanie) Baudhuin, Stephanie (Andrew) Kollmann, Michael (Emily) Baudhuin, Mary, Elias and Frances Kosmicki; two great-grandchildren, Elwyn Baudhuin and Liora Kollmann and his sister, Mary Wilterdink. He was further survived by other relatives and friends.  Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Sr. John Francis, CSA, two brothers, Jerome “Bobo” Pitsch and John Pitsch, and his granddaughter, Annie Kosmicki.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 818 Huron Ave., Sheboygan with Rev. Matthew Widder and Rev. Richard Cerpich officiating.
