Rev. William “Bill” Noel Redeker, age 91, died September 8, 2022 in Grand Junction, CO of natural causes.

Born July 4, 1931, in Mishicot, WI, Bill was the son of the late Arthur and Libbie Redeker. Bill graduated from Mishicot High School, attended Concordia College in Milwaukee, WI, and then went on to the Seminary. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 1958. During his initial placement interviews for the ministry, Bill requested that the Seminary not place him on the West Coast or with a new mission church. He began his ministry in Los Gatos, CA starting a new mission church. It was there that Bill met Anita Alma Seyfried. They were united in holy matrimony on October 25, 1959. “The Twins,” Kathleen & Michael, arrived in July 1962. Pastor Redeker received and accepted the call to serve as pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Sheboygan in the spring of 1965. He served the Lord at Our Savior until his retirement in 1996. Bill was always on the go. He served two congregations as interim pastor after retirement: Zion Lutheran Church in Terra Bella, CA and Trinity Lutheran Church in Exeter, CA.

Bill enjoyed gardening, reading, taking walks (schputz) especially at Terry-Andrea, making chili “soup,” and pork chop casserole. He especially enjoyed his time with family!

Bill was a kind, gracious, fun-loving person who loved to be around people. He enjoyed always being on the move.

Bill was a servant of Christ Jesus first and foremost. His Christian faith guided and shaped him to reach out and help others. He was hardworking, and a very dedicated husband and father.

Pastor Redeker was preceded in death by; his wife, Anita, sister Ethel Mai Vander Logt, and his parents. He is survived by daughter Katie Brozovich (John) and son Rev. Michael (Mary); grandchildren Bridget, Aaron, Max, Sam, Victoria Eads (Tim), Gemma, and Sean; and great-granddaughter Aya Redeker; niece Kay Lynn Holbrook (Rex) and nephew Roger Vander Logt; niece Heidi Garwood (Richard) and Roger Heath (Peggy).

Mike, Katy & family, Not only was Rev Redeker a devoted and compassionate pastor, he was a loving, faithful and devoted husband to your beloved Mother, & Father to the both of you. His impact on raising the both of you is, & forever will be evident in your lives. Early in his life, your Dad placed his life and well being in God’s hands. At the very end of his journey, he surely entrusted God to usher himself into His divine presence just as Jesus did on the cross when he uttered in Luke 23:46, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit. Know that any/all of your tears are a beautiful tribute to your Dad, telling him that he was loved and will be missed. Today and for always… a tear falling upon a casket says what a spoken farewell never could. There is no shame in the shedding of tears. On the way to Lazarus’ tomb, Jesus approached the gravesite with the full assurance that he would raise him from the dead, yet upon His arrival, the scriptures tell us that “Jesus wept.” How remarkable that our plight could trouble His spirit; that our pain could summon His tears! They still evoke this same response from our Lord on this very day. My sincere & heartfelt sympathies to you in the loss of your beloved father. You shall see & hold him again in Heaven one day in the presence of our Lord. May the Holy Spirit comfort and sustain you for all of your days. To William's earthly body… enter into thy eternal rest. And to his precious soul… Into thy hands Father… into Thy hands!

My condolences to Pastor Redeker's Family

Pastor Redeker personally took my son Christopher under his wing as a teenager, I was a single parent, and he was getting in trouble and Pastor turned him around. Christopher attended adult confirmation in his office and was confirmed. Christopher later joined the Navy and served our country. When I told him of Pastor's passing, a tough grown man cried. Pastor Redeker was my 2nd favorite man, second only to my father.

I grew up at Our Savior's with Pastor Redeker and he never hesitated to take time out to talk to a troubled teenager even while dealing with serious issues of life and death. The faith in God he instilled in me with his guidance, prayers and sermons lives in my heart to this day. God rest his sweet soul. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

I am a 65 year member of holy cross lutheran church on the wast coast. Exactly where he didn't want to be! But the lord knew what he was doing with pastor bill because it was here where he met anita. He was a very man. O my goodness was he busy. We loved him. God knew we needed someone like him because we were a mission church. Something else he didn't want.

God's peace to the Redeker family as they mourn for our friend and mentor, Bill. He was a faithful servant of Jesus and cared tremendously for the people he served as pastor. His comfort was always founded in the resurrection promise of Jesus, who said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die."
