Richard W. Hardy

Richard W. Hardy, age 80, of West Bend, died on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Kathy Hospice in Washington County. He was born in Milwaukee on December 17, 1944, to the late Jerome and Loraine Nackers Hardy.
Richard attended and graduated from the St. Lawrence Seminary High School in Mt. Calvary, WI. On May 24, 1969, he was united in marriage to Therese Renzelmann at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Sheboygan. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves, serving his country proudly. Richard was employed at Lake-to-Lake Dairy in Sheboygan. He then worked at and retired from Golden Guernsey Dairy in Waukesha.
Richard was a past member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Sheboygan and was a current member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. In his earlier years, Richard was a basketball coach for 21 years at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, and was an avid Green Bay Packer, Milwaukee Brewers, and Bucks fan. Most of all, Richard loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Therese “Terri” Hardy, of West Bend; three children, Jerome (Kristen) Hardy, of West Bend, Katie (Doug) Geidel, of Kewaskum, and Timothy (Jennifer) Hardy, of Richfield; grandchildren, Alex (Anna) Hardy, Max (Laiken) Hardy, Zach Geidel, Noah (Kristen) Hardy, Maddie Geidel, Alison (Dylan) Hardy, Sophie Hardy, and Sam Hardy; one great-granddaughter, Brailyn Hardy; sisters, Joann Schmidt and Mary (Robert) Conto; and a sister-in-law, Betty Hardy. Many other relatives and friends survive. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Thomas Hardy, his sister, Donna Molitor, and a brother-in-law, Augie Schmidt.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1439 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Sheboygan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard’s name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association of Wisconsin (www.alz.org/wi). A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at Kathy Hospice, Horizon Health Care, New Perspective Senior Living, and Betty’s Harbor Memory Care for the compassion and care that was given to Richard through the years.
