Robert “Bob” Thielke, age 94 of Sheboygan passed away Tuesday February 4, 2025. Bob was born July 28, 1930, to the late John and Helen (Strassburg) Thielke. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Joyce Stange on February 28, 1953, at St. John’s United Church of Christ; she preceded him in death on January 30, 2016. Bob was employed by Schultz Sav-o Stores (now Fresh Brands) for 33 years. He enjoyed bowling, swimming at the YMCA, reading, doing crosswords, playing chess, fishing, and watching the Packers, Brewers and Bucks.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955 with ports of call in many Mediterranean countries. His final rank achieved was Quartermaster Signalman.
Survivors include his children Valerie (Mark) Dorow of Fond du Lac, David (MaryAnn) Thielke of Sheboygan, Thomas (Kathy) Thielke of Allenton, James (Tammy) Thielke of Sheboygan grandchildren Matthew (Rochelle) Dorow, Laura (fiancé Chris Holmes), Maria Hittman, Michael (Tiffany) Thielke, Natalie (fiancé Mike Bohan), Kaylee (Cam) Fuller, Taylor Thielke (Jesse Valukas) and ten great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, daughter Kelly, parents, and sister Lila Schmidt.
Family and friends may gather at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street Sheboygan on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Judine Duerwaechter from St. John’s United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow in the Wildwood Cemetery with military honors being conducted by VFW Post #9156.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the St. Nicholas Hospital ICU and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice staff for their compassionate and loving care.
