Rogene M. Leick, age 96, of Sheboygan Falls, died on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Pine Haven Residential Center in Sheboygan Falls. She was born in Sheboygan on April 4, 1929, the daughter of the late John and Marie (Brotz) Nelson.
Rogene attended school in Kohler and graduated from Kohler High School in 1948 where she was Homecoming Queen. On May 5, 1951, she was united in marriage to John Leick in Kohler. John preceded her in death on May 14, 2005. Rogene was a proud homemaker and took immense pride in raising her four children, John, Mary, Greg, and David.
She was a longtime member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and volunteered in many capacities, some of which included the food pantry, Catholic Daughters of America and the Catholic Youth Organization. Rogene enjoyed bowling and had multiple 300 games. She was also an avid Bridge player and Green Bay Packer fan, and she loved to travel with John as well.
Survivors include her four children, John (Theda) Leick, of Henderson, NV, Mary (Dave) Reinbold, Greg (Patti) Leick, both of Kohler, and David (Janeen) Leick, of Inver Grove Heights, MN; nine grandchildren, Stephen, Patrick, and Joseph Leick, Fran and Frankie Padios, Alison (Brian) Schlick, Sarah Leick (fiancée Hunter Krenek), Alex (Becca) Leick, and Jack Leick (fiancée Ana Kuzara); two great-grandchildren, Leo Schlick and Maddox Leick; a brother, Tom (Rosemary) Nelson, of Lenexa, KS; and her sister-in-law, Carol Nelson, of Sheboygan. Other relatives and friends further survive her. Rogene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Ken Nelson, sister, Audrey Manley, and a baby sister, Marilyn Nelson.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rogene will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1439 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Sheboygan.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and the Pine Haven Christian Home-Giddings Ave. for the compassion and care that was given to Rogene.
Memorials are preferred and will be given in Rogene’s honor to St. Peter Claver Catholic Church.
