Ronald Pfister was born May 20, 1936 to the late Edward and Eunice (Bolz) Pfister and passed away on July 5, 2025 at the age of 89. He attended local schools including Holy Name Grade School, one year at Sheboygan North High and was a Central High School graduate with the class of 1955 where he played varsity football, basketball, baseball & track. Ronald also played football with the Sheboygan Redwings Semipro team from 1955-1956 before serving in the United States Army from 1956-1958. He then married Lois Neuwirth on April 26, 1958 and celebrated their 67th anniversary this year.
During his working years, he worked at Wigwam Mills for 37 years as a department manager until his retirement. Ronald also was a volunteer for Big Brothers for 43 years mentoring many boys including Laine, Kyle and Jamique who kept in touch with him. He was also a Lunch Buddy for 8 years at Wilson Elementary School. Ronald belonged to Old Timers Baseball Association and was a mass server growing up and several years as an adult.
Ronald was very proud of his children and grandchildren and loved having great-grandchildren. He enjoyed sports, exercising, yard work, watching the White Sox, Packers, Wisconsin football, basketball and girls volleyball.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Lois; daughters, Julie (Randy) Ristow, Rhonda (David) Oldenburg, Tama (Scott) Ryskoski; grandchildren, Kelley (Danny) Junod, Kendra (Jay) Ristow-Austin, Clayton Ristow, Heidi (Jamaul) Johnson, Amy (Brenden) Johnson, Erica Oldenburg (fiancé Nate Sullivan), Rebecca (Chance) King, Hayley (the late Michael) Lindsay, Ryne Ryskoski; great-grandchildren, Rose, Xavier, Felix, Zoe, Hazel, Bradley, Ava, Emery, Malcolm, Eleanor, Theo, Charlotte and Madelyn; brothers, Kenneth (MaryAnn) Phoenix, AZ, Gerald, Sun Prairie, WI, sisters-in-law, Marlene Schaller, Sonora, CA, Carol Pfister, Minocqua, WI.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patricia Verona and Kathleen Harms; brothers, Edward, Roger and Bruce; brothers-in-law, Larry Neuwirth, Sylver Schaller, Tony Verona, Bill Harms, and sisters-in-law, Lois Pfister and Shirley Pfister.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1439 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials to South High Athletic Scholarship or St. Jude’s in Ronald’s name are appreciated.
