Ronald Thiel, age 89, of Sheboygan passed away Friday November 4, 2022. Ronald was born November 23, 1932, in Sheboygan to the late Arnold and Lillian (Stange) Thiel. Ronald proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany following World War II from 1953-1955. He was united in marriage to the former Patricia Salzwedel on May 11, 1957, in Sheboygan; she preceded him in death October 22, 2009. Ronald was employed as a machine operator for Georgia Pacific retiring in 1994. He enjoyed doing everything with Pat, his best friend and wife until her passing in 2009. Ron loved spending time with family. He looked forward to family gatherings with his grand kids and great grand kids. He enjoyed traveling, casinos, walks along the lake, riding his moped, golfing and watching the Brewers. In addition to family Ron enjoyed local activities with his neighbor Marvin, listening to the ball game with brother Arno, and going out to eat with his sister Marilyn.
Survivors include a daughter Vicki (Mitch) Scray of St. James City, Florida, son Randy (Felicia) Thiel of Howards Grove, grandchildren: Gavin Scray, Garrett (Shannon) Scray, Grant Scray, Myka (Caleb) Hart, Megan (Brian) Bruegge, Zach (Aimee) Thiel, Mariah (Thomas) Dowty, Dominic (Heather Baeckmann) Geiger, ten great-grandchildren, sister Marilyn Wirtz and a brother Arnold Thiel Jr. both of Sheboygan.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Pat, his parents, Arnold and Lillian, brother Jerome Thiel, sister Nancy Thiel and a sister-in-law Susan.
Family and friends may gather at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan on Thursday November 10, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon. Pastor Don Johnson will officiate. Burial will take place on Friday November 11, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park with military honors being accorded by VFW Post #9156.
