We met Rosie and Russ on a cruise many years ago. We lived at Wisconsin at the time so for several years we visited back and forth and even took a couple more cruises together plus visiting them in Harlingen. We then lost touch. We retired to Tennessee and my husband passed away a couple of months ago. If this message gets to the family would like to give Russ a virtual hug and tell him how much their friendship meant to us.

Joann and Steve James

We spent many good times with Russ and Rosie in the early years of both of our marriages. Lots of good memories. Missed them when they moved to Texas. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Russ and Vickie.

Rosie was a vibrant and kind woman. She will be warmly remembered and sadly missed. Rosie and Russ were dear friends to my parents, Dusty and Carl King. On my visits to Texas, a highlight was going to their home for snackies and laughs. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Dear Russ and family, Words seem totally inadequate to truly express our sorrow and sadness on hearing the news that Rossie has left us here all alone, and yet we are sustained by our faith that now this time of pain and suffering has ended for her and that she is now in heaven with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! In His name we pray and beseech His blessings upon her and upon you and your family! With lots of love, Marilyn and Stewart Pierce, Cottonwood Creek, Harlingen, Texas.

Paul and martha lahti

Dear Russ, Paul and I were so sad to read of Rosie’s death in the NW Herald. We had such good times with you and rosie having meals in both of our houses, cleaning the “Reuben dip” out of your pool after a few too many cocktails, playing golf, having a garage sale and having such fun visiting you in Harlingen. Also you are about the only ones we could discuss politics with. We have lost a wonderful friend! You are. In our thoughts along with Vicky, Jeff and TJ. Best wishes and lots of love, Martha and Paul
