Sanjuana “Sunny” Covarrubias, 51, of Sheboygan, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Sunny was born in Guanajuato, Mexico on November 14, 1970 to Jose and Maria (Guerrero) Valadez.
Sunny was a great mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a very strong, intelligent, dedicated, caring, and hard working person. Sunny showed her love for others by sharing her passion for cooking, once you tried her food there was no way you weren’t coming back for more. Family gatherings were her favorite pastime; great times, lots of laughs, and the perfect opportunity to test a newly tweaked recipe.
When loved ones hear a cumbia or an Elvis Presley song we will remember her dearly.
Sunny is survived by her husband of 19 years, Ernesto; children, Presley, Sunny, DJ and Kory; mother, Maria Valadez; siblings, Hermelinda (Jose) Prado, Jose (Maribel) Valadez, Jose Guerrero, Maria (Jorge) Hernandez, Anjelica (Juan) Lara, Maria (Angelo) Fuentez, Janet (Sam) Lopez, Danny (Amanda) Valadez and William (Morgan) Valadez; sister-in-law, Maveli (Rodrigo) Covarrubias; 18 nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Valadez; father-in-law, Carlos Covarrubias and nephew, Fabian Lara.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at St. Clement Catholic Church, 707 N. 6th St., Sheboygan, Sheboygan, with Fr. Norberto Sandoval officiating. Visitation will be at church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m.
