Sharon V. Ver Strate, age 82, of Sheboygan, died on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. She was born on March 18, 1943, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Sophie Dann Duchow.
Sharon attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1961. On March 27, 1965, she was united in marriage to Ronald R. Ver Strate at Fountain Park United Methodist Church in Sheboygan. Ronald preceded Sharon in death in January 21,1998.
Sharon earned her associate degree in accounting from MATC in 1989. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Bobcats Plus in Butler, retiring in 2014. During her retirement she would still manage her rental properties and took immense pride in taking care of what needed to be done. In her earlier years Sharon worked at the Sheboygan County Humane Society. She was a cat and dog lover, enjoyed traveling, playing card games and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two sons, Todd Ver Strate, of Wisconsin Rapids, and Troy (Kay) Ver Strate, of Germantown; two grandsons, Alec, and Troy Ver Strate; a sister-in-law, Gwynn Duchow, of Sheboygan; and her longtime companion, Roger Beaumont, of Sheboygan. Many other relatives and friends survive. Her parents, husband, and a brother, Fredrick “Butch” Duchow, all preceded her in death.
A funeral service for Sharon will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan with Pastor Dale Miller officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sharon’s name may directed to the Sheboygan County Humane Society. A heart felt thank you is extended to the NICU staff at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center for the compassion and care that was given to Sharon.
