Steve Rassel, 62, died May 2, 2023 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He was born May 14, 1960 in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Steve was a kind and gentle soul. He was generous, thoughtful and always happy to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed life and had a great sense of humor, a warm smile and a joyful laugh.
Steve had a lifelong appreciation for the natural world and never ceased to be amazed by the beauty and wonders of nature. Some of Steve’s favorite pastimes were hikes on woodland trails, dune trails and walks along Lake Michigan beaches. He enjoyed camping in Wisconsin and many scenic locations across the country. He had an appreciation for a wide variety of music styles, enjoyed attending concerts and visiting museums.
He was a talented graphic designer. His 40-year career began in Milwaukee, continued in Chicago and then Sheboygan. Steve also found enjoyment in creating paintings, sculptures and crafts. He had a strong interest in architectural design.
Steve is survived by his longtime partner Gary Shea; siblings Dennis (Sharon) Rassel, James (Wendy) Rassel, Mary Woeckner, Julie (Tim) Ripp; partner-in-law John Shea; nephews, nieces and their families; additional relatives; and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Rassel and Charlotte (Stoiber) Rassel; nephew Tim Woeckner; and a very special aunt, Mary Reinboldt.
A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
