Family & Friends,

Our hearts are broken to tell you that our mother Sue Richter has passed away.

A celebration of life planned for TODAY is now postponed due to family members testing positive for Covid.

For the safety of everyone we know this is the best decision.

Lissa, Stephanie, Shannon, Sara, Greg

Susan Kay Richter, age …never liked to reveal!! Guided by Angels to the heavens on Thursday November 25th, 2021, at her home with children by her side. She was born June 17th, 1944, in Kansas City, MO to the late Elvin Kyle McHone and Susan Elizabeth (Lusk) McHone.
On November 30, 1963 she was united in marriage to Ralph Alan Richter at First Baptist Church in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Ralph passed away on July 3, 2011. Ralph and Sue enjoyed being married for almost 50 years!
Survivors include her daughters, Lissa (Richter) Hansen(Bridget Brennan), of Manitowoc WI, Stefanie (Richter) DeBraccio, of Rockville Centre, NY, Shannon Richter (Donald Frazer), of New York, NY, Sara Richter(Jeff Dady), of Sugar Grove IL; her son, Gregory Richter of Sheboygan; ten Grandchildren, Derek, Drake, Marley, Sophia, Stella, Atticus, Avery, Colton, Camren and Charlotte; and her sister, Paula Large, of Phoenix, AZ. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Susan was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Susan and her sister Paula traveled with their parents as their father worked as a welder eventually settling in Sheboygan WI. Sue graduated from North High School in 1962. She was lucky enough to stay home and raise five children. She went to college later in life and earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Silver Lake College in 1999. After graduating she worked as a Teacher for Manitowoc County Head Start for 5 years and Sheboygan County Head Start for 15 years up until the time she was not able to work…
Susan loved family, friends, laughing, texting and sending meme’s, getting tattoos, getting her hair done, fun socks and shoes!, bright colors, on-line shopping, dogs and more dogs, loved working with kids and laughing with her friends from work. She loved her dogs and tolerated her children LOL.
On behalf of the family, we would like to thank so many that helped us out throughout this past year including Andrea, for being there almost every weekend, also helping in every way possible, Mary Jo, for the prayers and the food trains, and more prayers and coming to the house to pray! For Tami who came with food and friendship and braved almost being bit by Lu numerous times! Both of you for organizing never ending food trains. For the people who brought food and flowers and sent cards, we cried out of sheer awe for every kind deed and word. For all her friends that sent her daily texts thinking about her and telling her to stay positive, Paz, Mai Chou, Kelly, Moon, there are so many we are sorry if we missed anyone!!

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Susan’s name.  Please drop off or mail cards to Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan, WI  53081 in c/o Susan Richter Family.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.reinboldfh.com

Sue has been a dear friend for many years. We had just got her and the Head Start program back at Jefferson when all the Covid stuff hit. I was one of the first people she told that she had cancer after all that. Even after all the obstacles thrown her way, she believed she was going to beat this! Unfortunately God had a much better plan for Sue. She would always greet me by saying, “Moon” as I would reply, “Richter” or in the reverse. I will miss that most. She leaves an amazing legacy of giving so many students the foundation of love, play, and self-confidence to start their school careers. ❤️ Until we meet again Richter, I will carry on your legacy with our kids!

Dear Paula, I’m so sorry to hear of Sue’s passing. It sounds like she lived life with exuberance! Sad that she was so Ill at the end. At some point in the 90’s, I did an appraisal for her and Ralph. It was fun to see her. I remember her having beautiful sweaters, having a beatnik party in your basement, and driving us around with the radio on full blast! I hope you are well, and enjoying life too. I live in Sarasota FL. And would love to hear from you. In the meantime, my condolences. Sincerely, Mary Beth. (Your Mom always called me McBeth!! I just remembered that)!
