Thomas John Reinthaler “the Roach”, 84 passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025. Tom was born in Sheboygan on November 3, 1940, to the late George and Lucille (Rach) Reinthaler.
He attended local schools and graduated from Central High School in 1958. On November 11, 1961, Tom married Helen Maffert in Sheboygan, WI and together they raised three sons.
Tom retired from Schultz Sav-O Stores in 1999 after over 30 years of service.
Tom loved the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, tending to his vegetable garden or enjoying a couple beers with family and friends in the backyard. He found joy in the simple things in life.
One of his unique hobbies was making his famous turtle soup. He made over 300 batches, proudly sharing it with everyone he knew. Tom will be remembered for his colorful storytelling, his quick wit, and his ability to find humor in almost everything.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Helen; his sons, Tom (Marcia) of Sheboygan, Bill (Angie) of Elkhart Lake, and Rick (Diane) of Port Washington; his grandchildren, Jeanie Reinthaler and Tommy (Katie) Reinthaler both of Sheboygan; his brother, Robert Reinthaler; sisters-in-law, Donna Reinthaler and Almayrene Reinthaler; numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard Reinthaler and Stanley Reinthaler; his sister, Barbara (Jerry) Krueger and sisters-in-law Mary (Don) John and Janice Reinthaler.
A heartfelt thank you from Tom’s family is extended to Aurora Hospital 1st floor staff for the care and compassion they provided to him.
Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home is assisting the family. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 6th at the V.F.W. Post 9156, 552 S Evans St, Sheboygan, WI 53081. Visitation from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. with a short celebration of life service at 1:00 p.m.
