Thomas “Tom” Hand, age 78, of Cascade, died peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born in West Allis, WI on March 12, 1947, to the late Orville and Jean Walsh Hand.
He attended local schools in West Allis, WI. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving his country during the Vietnam War. On May 28, 1970, He was united in marriage to Anna M. O’Neill in Jacksonville, Florida. Annie preceded him in death on December 29, 2024.
Tom was welder by trade; he was employed at Optenburg Iron Works in Sheboygan and later retired from Modern Equipment Company in Port Washington.
Tom was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and carving duck decoys, some of which were auctioned off at Duck Unlimited Conventions. Tom was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and liked to text his family and friends during Packer games. He was also a music lover and liked to restore old vehicles. Grilling out his famous barbeque chicken was a family favorite as well. Tom’s jovial laughter will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Survivors include his three children, MaryJo (Mike) Stumpf, of Tullahoma, TN, Andrea (Bob) Durdin, of Plymouth, and Cory Hand, of Cascade; three grandchildren, Brody Stumpf, Taylor (Lance) Lopez, and Angela Eigenberger; his two brothers, Clint (Barb) Hand, and Jim (Sheri) Hand; and a daughter-in-law, Stacey Hand. Tom is further survived by many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Bridget Hand, and his son, Eric Hand.
In accordance with Tom’s wishes, no services will be held, and a cremation will take place.
