Victor Pautz, age 98 of Sheboygan passed away peacefully Wednesday September 21, 2022. He was born May 4, 1924, in Sheboygan to the late Raymond and Anna (Freuck) Pautz. Victor proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943 to 1945 with tours of service in central Europe and Northern Africa earning victory medals while participating in these campaigns. On September 16, 1950, Victor was united in marriage to Marilyn Tauferner at Bethlehem Lutheran Church; she preceded him in death on February 14, 2012. Victor was employed at Hoekstra Brothers in Sheboygan and then at Security First National Bank from which he retired. Following retirement, Victor volunteered with the Office of the Aging for 30 years. He and his wife Marilyn also volunteered with Labors for Christ helping to rebuild homes from natural disasters and assisting with building projects within the church. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, serving as an usher and elder in his earlier years. Victor will be remembered for being the kind person he was, his sense of humor, and his willingness to help others who were in need.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Denise (Dennis) Furlong of Onalaska, son Steve (fiancée Mary Green) Pautz of Sheboygan, grandchildren Jared Krentz of La Crosse, Melissa (Cory) Akers of Pewaukee, Mallory Pautz of Sheboygan, Craig Pautz of Sheboygan, Aaron Cannon of Sheboygan, and great-grandchildren Isaiah Pautz and Sophie Akers. Victor is further survived by other nieces and nephews.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Jodell Cannon and a daughter-in-law Anna Marie Pautz.
Family and friends may gather at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Ave. Sheboygan on Tuesday September 27, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. until the time for service at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Adam Barkley will officiate. Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park with VFW Post #9156 conducting military honors.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Victor`s name.
The Pautz family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Terrace Place, Allay Home Health and Hospice and especially to Victor’s nephew Gary Tauferner, for his dedication and assistance in caring for Victor.
