Virginia L. Mueller, age 89, of Sheboygan, died on Friday, February 3, 2023, at The Sheboygan Progressive Care Center. She was born in Sheboygan on March 10, 1933, to the late Albert and Malinda Krueger Zillner.
She attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1951. On October 22, 1955, Virginia was united in marriage to Donald Mueller at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. She was employed as a stenographer for Polarware Company from 1951 to 1957 and was a retail clerk at Old Wisconsin Sausage Company from 1974 to 1995, she was known as the “pretty one” at the Old Wisconsin Sausage store for many years.
Virginia was a current member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sheboygan and volunteered at the Bethesda Thrift Store also. She enjoyed reading, bowling, golfing, and playing cards. Virginia was also a past member of the Schuhplattlers Bavarian Dance Club.
Survivors include her husband Donald, of Sheboygan; two sons, Todd (Linda) Mueller, of Sheboygan, and Lee (Julie) Mueller, of Green Bay; three grandchildren, Benjamin Mueller, of Sycamore, IL, Tanya (Steve) Goes, of Sheboygan, and Nicholas (Katie) Mueller, of Menomonee Falls; three great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Cooper, and Tucker Goes; a sister-in-law, Maxine Mauer, of Sheboygan; and her four brothers-in-law, Dewaine Mueller, of Sheboygan, Jerome (Sally) Mueller, of Terre Haute, IN, Roy (Barbara) Mueller, of Sheboygan, and Ronald (Kathy) Mueller, of Pewaukee. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Her parents, mother and father-in-law, a brother-in-law, Jack Mauer, and a sister-in-law, LaMae Mueller, all preceded her in death.
A funeral service for Virginia will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 917 Mead Ave., Sheboygan with Rev. James Schulz officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at the Garden Terrace Mausoleum in Lutheran Cemetery.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the staff at Progressive Care Center and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Virginia’s name.
