Wilhelm (Willi) Kuehne, age 90, of Sheboygan, entered into eternal life at St. Mary’s Hospital in Green Bay on March 21, 2023. His last words to his loving wife of 67 years were, “I love you”.
Willi was born in Germany May 8, 1932. He married Ruth Lau on June 11, 1955. Their son Juergen was born in 1956 and in 1959 the family immigrated to the US. A master carpenter, Willi worked for Thornet & Ebenreiter. He also built many things, but was especially proud of the cabinets & Bavarian style bar he built in his basement.
Ruth & Willi loved to travel in their motorhome, visiting most of the United States including Alaska. In retirement, many trips were taken to Germany to visit family. They also enjoyed 22 summers at their cottage on Lake Puckaway.
Willi is survived by his wife Ruth; granddaughters, Monica (Tim) Wolfe and Teal Kuehne; great-grandchildren, Levi & Brooke Wolfe, all of Homer Alaska. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Juergen.
A private funeral service is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to: The American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas TX 75284-0692. A special thank you is extended to Theresa and Dr. Michael Johnson at Sheboygan Internal Medicine for the compassion and care that was given to Willi.
